Mauritius voted number one long haul destination for weddings, honeymoons and couples On the opening day of London's World Travel Market, Dr Karl Mootoosamy of the Mauritius Tourism Promotion Authority (MTPA) received an award from leading trade magazine, 'Selling Long Haul', naming Mauritius the number one "Long Haul Destination for Weddings, Honeymoons & Couples". The award was voted for by travel agents across the UK specialising in long haul travel, with Mauritius beating stiff competition from all other markets.The WTM opened on 10 November in London. It is one of the most important tourist fair in the world and it attracts specialists of the travel world. WTM is a unique forum for meetings and negotiations between professionals and for the presentation of new products. The fair will close on 13 November. 44 hotel representatives and tour operators represent Mauritius at the fair. During three days, Dr. Karl Mootoosamy will give a series of interviews to the specialised and general press, including prestigious and high circulation titles. The Director of MTPA will, above all, meet a great number of specialists who are partners of the Mauritian destination. |
