As an international client based in Melbourne, SATO promotes tourism in South America. SATO has been a client since 1 July 2007. Managed by three experienced Latin Americans, they representquality adventure, eco-tourism and luxury experiences in 13 countries from Mexico to Antarctica. SATO needed assistance in marketing and sales within the Australian market as well as a business development strategy.

Solution

SATO has outsourced its sales and marketing to TWP in Australia who is in charge of its marketing communications  whilst SATO in turn, has focused on its business operations. TWP’s strategy was to leverage their geography in Melbourne. In this way, clients are gaining the benefit of the South American product knowledge and expertise domestically.

Results

TWP has introduced SATO to upscale travel companies, new group business and secured extensive media promotions and brand awareness. Following strong growth in the last three years, SATO achieved a 30% jump in turnover in the 06/07 financial year. In 2008, TWP will take SATO into South Australia, Queensland and Tasmania. Tourism to South America is booming, as Australia’s mid to upper market travelers seek out the culture and history offered by a ‘trophy’ destination.
